Hello, I'm Amadeo Pérez! Today I'm going to tell you about my experience with the SEPE job offers, that resource that many know about but few take full advantage of. What better way to understand how this public service works than with someone who has been through it more than once? Buckle up because I'm going to break it all down: the good, the bad and what nobody tells you.
The SEPE, or State Public Employment Service, is the body in charge of centralizing and managing job offers in Spain. But beware! It is not the only place to look for a job, although it is one of the most complete. Through its digital platform Empléate, you can access thousands of offers updated daily, from construction jobs to the latest generation of technology positions.
The curious thing is that the SEPE not only includes public offers, but also those coming from private companies. In other words, it is a bridge between workers and employers. The best thing? You don't need to be a computer expert to use it; it's quite intuitive (although with its little tricks, as I'll tell you about).
A few years ago, when I lost my job in the logistics sector, I was forced to turn to SEPE. With some skepticism, I created my account on their platform. Spoiler: I did it wrong the first time. I didn't upload my updated resume or complete all the information they asked for. Result: zero interviews.
Moraleja? If you don't spend time on your profile, don't expect results. SEPE works as a showcase where employers evaluate your profile, so the clearer and more professional it is, the more options you will have.
Register correctly: Access the Empléate portal. If this is your first time, select "Create Account" and complete all fields. Be sure to upload your updated resume.
Filter the offers according to your interests: Do you want a job close to home? Use the filters by location, sector or type of contract. For example, this year, jobs in computer science, logistics and personal care stand out.
Apply to several vacancies: Don't stick to just one offer. The more you apply, the more options you'll have. Just personalize your applications. Don't use the same resume for everything.
Check regularly: SEPE updates its database every day. A vacancy that wasn't there yesterday could be your opportunity today.
Is it worth using this platform? Absolutely. However, not everything is perfect. Here is my analysis:
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
This year, the SEPE has compiled more than 40,000 new vacancies. According to its platform, the sectors with the highest demand are:
The faculties embrace diverse academic disciplines and fields of study, opening doors to new perspectives and exploring different spheres of wisdom in a constantly evolving world.
