Hello, I'm Amadeo Perez, and today I want to share my experience with women entrepreneurs. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to cross paths with women who have changed the rules of the game in their industries. And yes, sometimes it seems like the term "entrepreneur" is trendy, but I assure you that these women aren't playing. They are breaking barriers, making courageous decisions and, above all, showing that there are no limits when it comes to pursuing a vision.
Entrepreneurship has been around since time immemorial, but what makes an entrepreneur special is her ability to see opportunities where others see barriers. These women not only seek to create businesses, but often have a larger purpose behind their work: to change the world we live in. Whether through technology, art, fashion or education, each brings their unique touch.
I've learned that entrepreneurship is not a title. It is a path full of sacrifices, constant learning and, above all, resilience. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with some of these women entrepreneurs who have inspired their communities and entire generations.
From Melanie Perkins, the young Australian woman who co-founded Canva, a platform that has democratized graphic design globally, to Lupina Iturriaga, who created Fintonic to help thousands of users better manage their finances, women entrepreneurs are innovating in areas ranging from technology to personal finance.
Emily Weiss, for example, went from being a beauty blogger to founding Glossier, one of the most disruptive and valued cosmetics brands on the market. In each of these cases, what impresses me most is that behind every successful business is a story of effort, dedication, and an unwavering will to overcome obstacles.
The Secret Behind Their Success
In my interactions with these women, I have noticed several common factors that make them stand out as leaders in their respective fields:
Despite their accomplishments, entrepreneurs face unique obstacles. From lack of access to financing to gender stereotypes, the road is not always easy. In many cases, these women have had to work twice as hard to be taken seriously. However, that doesn't stop them.
Adi Tatarko, for example, co-founder of Houzz, faced a male-dominated industry. But today, her company is one of the most valued in the field of design and remodeling. Lidia Yan, with Next Trucking, has revolutionized trucking, proving that there are no barriers when you have a clear vision.
Why are they Important?
Women entrepreneurs not only generate employment and create innovative products. Their impact goes far beyond that. In many cases, they are agents of social change. Companies such as Chaak Healthy Snacks, founded by Jimena Florez, not only offer healthy products, but are also changing the eating habits of thousands of children in the United States, while supporting local farmers.
Blanca Treviño, another great entrepreneur, has been a pioneer in technology in Latin America, proving that women can lead in industries traditionally dominated by men.
During my career, I have learned that it's not just about having a good idea. The success of these women lies in their ability to adapt, learn fast and stand firm in their vision. I have seen firsthand how an entrepreneur can transform a small idea into a million-dollar company with just a little support and a lot of courage.
What I admire most is that, despite the challenges, they never stop. Their fighting spirit and their ability to see opportunities where others see problems is what makes them truly inspiring.
If there is one thing I have learned from women entrepreneurs it is that success does not come overnight. It is the result of a combination of vision, dedication and resilience. It's not easy, but it's possible. If you have an idea, don't let it die in your head. Work on it, adjust whatever it takes and, most importantly, don't give up.
These women have shown us that, no matter where you come from or the obstacles you face, if you have the determination, you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. So, if you are thinking about entrepreneurship, take note of their stories and go for it!
