Hello! I'm Rubén Águila, and today I want to share with you my experience and knowledge about Amazon Employment. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in different roles within Amazon, and I can tell you that it is a unique and enriching experience.
Amazon Employment is Amazon's official portal dedicated to the search and recruitment of talent in various areas and locations. Through this portal, the company offers a wide range of job opportunities ranging from positions in logistics centers to corporate roles in areas such as technology, marketing and human resources.
My adventure at Amazon began several years ago, when I decided to apply for a position in one of its logistics centers. The company was in full expansion in Spain, opening new facilities and creating thousands of jobs. I remember that, in 2024, Amazon opened a logistics station in Cambre, Galicia, generating more than a hundred additional jobs in the region.
The selection process was rigorous but transparent. Amazon values diversity and inclusion, and seeks candidates who share its principles of leadership and commitment to customer satisfaction. During the interviews, I was impressed by the importance the company places on innovation and continuous improvement.
Once in, the training was intense. Amazon invests significantly in training its employees, ensuring that everyone understands quality processes and standards. In addition, it offers professional development programs for those who wish to grow within the organization.
Amazon's culture is dynamic and results-oriented. Proactivity, data-driven decision making and the ability to adapt quickly to change are encouraged. While the days can be demanding, the satisfaction of meeting goals and seeing the direct impact on the customer experience is highly rewarding.
Amazon not only offers jobs, but also opportunities for professional growth and development. The company has internal programs that allow employees to move up and diversify their skills.
Amazon offers training programs in a variety of areas, from technical skills to leadership. These programs are designed to help employees reach their full potential and prepare them for roles of greater responsibility.
Internal mobility is a common practice at Amazon. Employees have the opportunity to move to different departments or geographic locations, which enriches their experience and allows them to gain a broader view of the company.
Amazon's presence in Spain has had a significant impact on the local economy. For example, in Asturias, the logistics center in the Polígono de Bobes has generated more than a thousand jobs, contributing to the economic development of the region.
In addition, Amazon collaborates with more than 3,500 Catalan SMEs, helping them to sell their products online and expand their reach internationally. This collaboration has generated more than 300 million euros in exports by 2023, a 15% increase over the previous year.
Working at Amazon is not without its challenges. The demands in terms of productivity and efficiency can be high, and it is important to be prepared for a dynamic and sometimes demanding work environment.
There have been instances where difficult working conditions have been reported. For example, an Amazon courier in Italy was fired for failing to meet the requirement to deliver a package every 150 seconds during his six-hour workday.
Maintaining a work-life balance can be challenging in a company that operates around the clock. However, Amazon offers resources and support to help employees manage their time effectively.
If you're considering a career at Amazon, here are some tips based on my experience:
Research: Familiarize yourself with Amazon's leadership principles and company culture.
Prepare: The selection process is competitive. Prepare your answers and examples that demonstrate your skills and experience.
Be Proactive: Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Value Diversity: Amazon is a global company that values diversity and inclusion. Show your ability to work in diverse environments.
My experience at Amazon has been a roller coaster of learning and challenges. I have seen firsthand how the company has evolved and expanded its presence in Spain, creating opportunities and facing challenges along the way.
If you are willing to work hard, learn constantly and adapt to an ever-changing environment, Amazon Employment may be an excellent opportunity for you.
Much success in your job search!
