Hello! I'm Pablo García, and today I want to share with you my experience working at Decathlon, that sports giant we all know. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be part of their team, you're in the right place. I'll tell you from the inside how Decathlon employment works, its selection processes, schedules, salaries and much more. Get comfortable and join me on this tour!
Before we dive into my experience, let me give you a brief context. Decathlon is a French multinational specialized in the sale and distribution of sports equipment. Founded in 1976, it has grown exponentially, with more than 105,000 employees in over 60 countries. Its mission is clear: "Move people through the wonders of sport."
I started my career at Decathlon a few years ago, motivated by my passion for sport and the good references I had for the company. From the first day, I realized that it was not just any job. Here's why.
The selection process at Decathlon is quite structured and seeks to identify people who share your passion for sport and your values. Here are the stages I went through:
Once inside, I encountered a dynamic and sports-oriented environment. Decathlon values initiative and passion for sport, fostering an environment where everyone can develop their professional career. The company offers ongoing training and internal growth opportunities, which allowed me to learn and grow within the organization.
Schedules at Decathlon can vary depending on the position and store. In my case, I had rotating shifts that included weekends. While it can be challenging, the company often offers flexibility for work/life balance. It's important to communicate your needs and come to agreements that benefit both parties.
With regard to compensation, Decathlon offers competitive salaries in the industry. For example, a salesperson can earn around €1,232 gross per month, while a section manager can reach €1,528 gross per month. In addition, the company provides benefits such as product discounts, ongoing training and profit sharing.
If you are considering joining the Decathlon team, here are some tips based on my experience:
Working at Decathlon has been an enriching experience that has allowed me to combine my passion for sport with my professional development. If you share these interests and are willing to be part of a dynamic and committed team, Decathlon may be the ideal place for you.
I hope my experience has been useful to you and will encourage you to consider a career at Decathlon. See you on the next sports adventure!
