Educa UNIVERSITY|JOBS & PROFESSIONS
If you are looking for public employment in the Comunitat Valenciana, let me tell you something: you are not alone. I, Carlos Hidalgo, have lived the whole process. I have gone through calls, waiting lists and interviews to get to work in the Generalitat Valenciana, and now I'm here to tell you how all this works called GVA Public Employment.
When we talk about GVA Public Employment, we refer to the calls, offers and job boards organized by the Generalitat Valenciana. This includes fixed positions, interim positions and participation in different sectors: education, health, administration, among others. All managed through portals such as PROP and Labora.
I confess something: when I started, I was more lost than an octopus in a garage. It was clear to me that I wanted job stability, but the road was not easy. The steps are long, but they work if you are consistent.
First, I subscribed to the PROP newsletter, which sends daily information about new calls. What I did was dedicate myself to scanning each offer like a hawk: Do I meet the requirements? What's the deadline?.
Once in, there are two main paths:
Access the right portal
The Generalitat Valenciana has several platforms to search for public employment. The main ones are:
Search for active calls
Everything starts by checking available vacancies. On the portal atv.gva.es, you can find open vacancies and current competitions.
Prepare your documentation
Curriculum vitae, qualifications, certificates... Don't leave anything to chance. Make sure you have everything updated and in digital format for online registrations.
Sign up for the PROP newsletter
A hidden gem. You receive daily information on new offers and possible job openings.
The good
The stability and the conciliation of work offered by working for the Generalitat are unparalleled. In addition, many positions allow internal mobility.
The downside
The process is not immediate. Depending on the call, you can wait months, even years, until you have your place.
The ugly
I'll tell you without filters: the bureaucracy can be hell. Certificates here, supporting documents there? Be prepared to deal with tedious paperwork.
Prepare yourself as if it were a marathon
If you opt for oppositions, don't skip mock exams and look for academies to guide you. If it's a stock exchange, make sure you have the right merits.
Networking
Talking with people in the industry saved me many times. They have insider information that doesn't always appear in newsletters.
Don't underestimate job boards
Although they are not definitive, they are an excellent gateway.
Of course it is!I speak to you from experience. The patience and preparation are key, but the rewards are enormous. Moreover, working for the Generalitat Valenciana is not only a stable job, but also an opportunity to contribute to the development of your community.
If you ever feel lost, remember: Carlos Hidalgo also started without knowing anything. But with the right tools and the right information, anything is possible.
The faculties embrace diverse academic disciplines and fields of study, opening doors to new perspectives and exploring different spheres of wisdom in a constantly evolving world.
