Hello! I'm Carlos Hidalgo, and today I want to share with you my experience and knowledge about public employment in Cantabria. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to be involved in this field, and believe me, there is a lot to tell. So, if you are interested in delving into the world of public employment in this beautiful region, read on. I promise it will be an informative and, why not, entertaining journey.
To begin with, let's talk about what public employment in Cantabria really means. Basically, it refers to all those job positions offered by the governmental institutions of the autonomous community. These can range from administrative positions to more specialized roles in areas such as health, education or social services.
The interesting thing about public employment is that it offers job stability, something that in these times is highly valued. In addition, it provides the opportunity to contribute directly to the development and welfare of Cantabrian society. But, like everything in life, it is not a bed of roses. Accessing one of these positions requires preparation, dedication and, above all, patience.
Let me tell you a little about my journey. A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to do my bit for public service. I informed myself about the oppositions available and the current calls for applications. It was then that I discovered the official public employment portal of Cantabria, an indispensable tool for any applicant.
After months of study and preparation, I managed to pass the tests and obtained a position in the administrative sector. During my time in the position, I learned about the importance of transparency, efficiency and commitment in public service. Not everything was easy; I faced challenges and moments of uncertainty, but each experience allowed me to grow professionally and personally.
If you are considering following this path, it is essential that you keep yourself informed about current calls. For example, recently, the Government of Cantabria has called for 103 positions for labor and civil servant personnel in the General Administration, corresponding to the public employment offers of 2023 and 2024. Applications can be submitted until December 3, and the first exams are scheduled for April 2025.
These calls cover a variety of roles, from the Management Corps to technical specialties such as Technical Architect, Nursing and Technical Engineer. In addition, vacancies have been opened for labor personnel in roles such as Graphic Arts Technician and Driver. The main objective is to fill vacancies and reduce the temporality in public employment, through a process of competition-public entrance examination with a valuation of 25% in the competition phase and 75% in the opposition phase.
Now, let's talk about the preparation. Accessing a position in the public employment in Cantabria is not an easy task. It requires meticulous planning and, above all, perseverance. Here are some tips based on my experience:

Entering public employment in Cantabria is a decision that must be made carefully. It offers numerous advantages, but it also requires commitment and a vocation of service. From my experience, I can say that it has been a journey full of learning and satisfaction. If you feel this is the path for you, I encourage you to prepare and give your best.
